  1. Janice (Richard's mum) says:

Glad you found the keys to the Dungeon – these posts are wonderful. Sounds like some great challenges for everyone today. I think I know who that is hoovering! Does this happen at home too, mum? Perhaps you can hire him out? Richard – hope you’re having a fantastic time. Pav is snoring on his ‘bear’, dad has got his head in his computer, and I am preparing the place for your return and nannie’s visit! Love from mum, dad and Pav xoxo

  2. Pam says:

Thanks for the update Salman. I think we have all been refreshing this page all evening eagerly awaiting your post!

Cameron, it feels like you have been away for ages and I can’t wait to hear about everything you’ve been up to. I quite fancy doing the tyre course and low ropes myself, they sound like good fun! Enjoy your last full day of activities and tell Sid he can come and hoover round at our house any time!

    Love
    Mum X

  3. Han's family says:

    Dear Han:
    We’re thinking of you!
Hope you are having a great time!
Love from mama, papa, tang and mei

  4. Nadir's mum says:

Sounds like super busy and exiting day! πŸ™‚

Dear Nadir – we keep on missing you πŸ™‚ All your mates from karate were asking about you – including the sensei. Dojo without you is not the same place! They all are looking forward to sparring with you on Friday!
Today we went to visit our new flat. Noor loves it, I hope you will too. Rooms were divided – I am sure you will be exited to find out which one is yours πŸ™‚

Enjoy yourself and have lots of fun! Love you!

  5. Imen's mum says:

    Dear Imen,

    What a day!!! Beautiful weather!
How was climbing? I know you love it.
Did you do any domestic chores without complaining? That would be amazing!!!!
Did you eat the leek pie?

Enjoy your last two days and make the most of it.
We miss you a lot xxx
Papa has started to paint your bedroom. Mani is coming Monday and Sarah is coming next Friday.

Have a wonderful day and be good. Xxx

  6. Liz and Andy Linden says:

    Dear Archie,
Sounds like you are doing loads of brilliant stuff. Bet you enjoyed the tyres and the climbing, although I’m less confident about the chicken and leek pie! (Thanks for all the excellent blogs Salman.)
Not sure that Salman can allow me to mention the football result yesterday. So, let me just say that a team with the initials T S which rhymes with Gottenham Motspur beat Gillingham 5 nil. Yah! We are drawn against Liverpool away next round (tough but win-able,) Arsenal have Reading (lucky, lucky, lucky) and Man City have Man U (hohoho).
Hope you have an amazing last full day there.
Love from Mum and Dad. X

  7. Mohamed Mum and Dad says:

    Good Morning x
Thank you Salman for updating this.We miss you so much. The house is quiet except for Mother Goose Club 24/7.I hope you enjoy the activities and learned from this which is the main part.Enjoy your last full day.
    love from mum and dad

  8. Stephanie says:

    Dear Harry,

Wow, it sounds like you’ve had another amazing action packed day (many thanks for the brilliant updates). I hope you have been enjoying all the activities. Apart from the girls dancing round the house to their music it has been very quiet here without you. I have really really really really really missed my chattering Harry so I can’t wait to hear all your stories. Will you be bringing your diary home to show us? I look forward to seeing all the pictures of the week too. I imagine it will take you all weekend to tell us everything that you have done, although if you are all going to bed early and waking later perhaps you’ll be too exhausted and sleep all weekend. Just one more sleep and you’ll be heading home. I’m sure you’ll have grown as you always seem to do when you go away and I don’t see you for a few days. Enjoy your last night and safe journey home gorgeous boy.

    Lots of love mum xxxxxxxx

  9. Kay (Juliet's mum) says:

I really enjoyed this blog post, it’s great to hear that everyone is sleeping longer and being so active and having so much fun when they’re awake. I was, however, very distressed to hear about the lack of cake. Unacceptable!

Jules, I can’t wait to see you tomorrow. You could take me on a Hornsey Road Bumble? On second thoughts though, perhaps not…

Anyway, here’s a message from our sponsor. Gwen says: β€œYo, homie, Seven Samurai! Word.” She’d high five you but – you know – no opposable thumbs. She did stand in her water bowl this morning though, which I’m taking as a sign of deep feelings.

We miss you so much – it’s ridiculously quiet here. We love you pickle xxx

  10. Matt and Cora says:

    Hello Trixie

I am looking forward to your return. I will make your bed and write you a hello note.
Hazel has a new kitten called Batcat!
Lots of love from Cora xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Trix
Sounds like you’re having an amazing time! Did you climb up that massive wall? What was on the other side? And well done getting Sid to do the hoovering, perhaps you can try the same hypnotic technique on Cora when you get home

Have fun on your last day and especially tonight my lovely one, can’t wait to see you tomorrow. Love from me, Moo and Sparky xxxooo

  11. mervyn's mum says:

    Good Mervyn,
Sounds like you are having an amazing time, did you enjoy climbing the wall? I bet you loved the tyre course challenge. Have been helping with the chores? We can’t wait to see you tomorrow……we miss you soooooooooo much and we loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee you loads.
Have a great day and enjoy yourself.

Thank you Salman for the updates.

  13. Nico says:

    Hi Sabs,

Sounds really fun! In two years I will be doing that. Can’t wait till you come back! πŸ˜‰

  14. Rannie says:

Gooood morning are you all awake ? What are you doing today ? Today is the first day of autumn. What’s it like with Tony ?
I didn’t have chocolate pudding at school this week. Did you learn how to climb a wall so you can escape ?

    Goood bye

What time are you coming back ?

  15. Scarlett says:

  16. Jodie says:

Wow, what a busy week you are all having! Thank you for the updates, it’s wonderful to hear what you have all been up to. Euan, I can’t wait to hear all about your week over a take away tomorrow! How was the chicken and leek pie?? Does this mean I will be able to get you eating leeks, and pies when you get home? I miss you sooooo much and can’t wait to have you home. I believe Alfie is protesting to your absence too, he hasn’t been standing in his water bowl like Gwen, but he does keep dragging his bowls towards your bedroom! Yesterday I came home to find his food bowl in the hallway. He’s clearly trying to tell me something. Love you to the moon and back…and back again, and again and again….. Have fun on your last couple of days, I can’t wait to see the photos. Love mum xxxxxxxxxxx

  17. Mark and Jen says:

What an incredible week so far! Did you manage to climb all the way to the top of that enormous structure? Hopefully some of your trips to the climbing centre came in handy! We can’t wait to hear all about it when you come home tomorrow! We miss you so but are happy for your wonderful adventure.

    Lots of love always,
    Mum and Dad

PS Oh, and BTW, Spurs won last night 5-0!!! πŸ˜‰

  18. Gail says:

BAKE OFF SPOILER ALERT! (Franny will want to know …)

Val is OUT Candice STARBAKER – cheers all round!!!
Your cuddles and chatter were hugely missed by us all
Big kisses and love Mum, Dad, Elliot and Jack xxx

  19. Lucy says:

    Good morning Trixie!

Loving the blog. Thank you Salman.

It’s Thursday already. The week is racing by and I’ve been at boring old work – it must have really flown for you, doing all that new and exciting stuff!

I hope Millie and Patrick were rescued from the ropes in time for the chicken and leek pie (with a pastry lid, I assume, not mash – which would be all wrong). I do have to ask ‘did anybody have a soggy bottom?’ πŸ™‚

It does seem your circumstances are getting tougher as the week goes on. It started with comedy beds and cake and now it’s fruit and hoovering (Sid: I salute you, Trixie and Cora view hoovering as a cruel and unusual punishment). I reckon you’re coming home just in time – by Monday it’ll be knit-your-own-gruel and ‘get up those chimneys’. THAT’S why there’s a dungeon! You’ve read enough Jacqueline Wilson to know how it goes, and you’re all smart, so I’m confident you have their evil plan figured out. But don’t worry; if you’re not home by 3:30 pm tomorrow me and Sparks will come and rescue you. πŸ˜‰

It’s the autumn equinox today – so there’s 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night and Autumn starts. I walked through a really thick spiders web strung across the front path this morning. It was so dense I could hear it breaking! I did feel a bit sorry to destroy the spider’s hard work. I expect it’ll try, try, try again. Which could get tedious.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and hearing all about your adventures (and the tuck shop!) I have so many questions – but they’ll have to wait.

‘Til tomorrow, all my love Mummy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  20. Henni's Mum says:

Wow it looks amazing and so much fun! Thanks again for the updates and photos. I’m sure that’s Henni in the photo with Millie? I don’t recognise her top, here’s hoping she packed enough of everything needed (except shoes!!! whoops who forgot their trainers?!!) and its just a case of swopsies?!. Missing you lots Henni… xxx

  21. Laura (Patrick's Mum) says:

    Dear Patrick,
You’re very brave on those ropes! I’ve always said you’re a little monkey!!
Looks like you’re all doing some great stuff and enjoying all the opportunities. Sid must have enjoyed his hoovering opportunity very much! Hope you’ve done a bit of that too Patrick. We’re all looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and hearing all about your adventures.
    Have another great day!
    Love Mummy. XXX

  22. Vicky, Ian and Louie says:

    Hello Ashmount yr 6,

Sounds as though you are having an amazing time (with some housework thrown in – that’s the kind of learning I like to see!). And so many birthdays to celebrate. Happy birthday Stephane and Shae – I’m sure you’ll always remember your 11th birthday. Thank you Salman for the fab updates – it’s not just the kids’ faces that light up when they see the messages. I think there are quite a few adults in and around Finsbury Park that keenly await each day’s news.

    Dear Olivia,

Do you remember when we used to count the number of sleeps til Christmas? Well, this time, it’s Daddy and I that are doing the counting and we know there’s just one more sleep until you’re home… can’t wait to see you. (I’m looking forward a little less to the great mound of muddy washing that will accompany you – if it all makes its way into your bags!)
Daddy is delighted to hear you did some climbing – he’s hoping you remembered all he’s taught you over the years. And you finally got to do your night-time walk! Did you see any bats? And did your torch batteries hold out? I’d be interested to hear all about Tony’s knowledge bombs, too.

Something strange is happening to the siblings of 6 blue and green, however – they have come over all appreciative of their brothers and sisters. I think it’s only a temporary affliction, though, and they’ll likely be cured by around 4.30pm on Friday afternoon.

Have a wonderful last couple of days.

Lots and lots of love and cuddles,

    Mummy
    xxxxxxx

  29. Kay (Juliet's mum) says:

Juliet! Just wanted you to know we got your postcard just now – what a fantastic surprise, we love it, thank you :))) xxxx

  30. Vicky, Ian and Louie says:

    Hey Olivia,

Me again. Just got your postcard. WHAAAAT?! No time to miss us? I read it out to Big Zee and Poppy and they’ve gone off in a serious strop. It’ll take a lot of Dreamies to help them recover, I can tell you!

Seriously, though, thank you for the lovely note. Nice to hear all about your time in Kent.

Forgot to mention in my last post: There have been some strange goings-on with Louie. Yesterday, he left the playground after school when I asked him to, without complaining, he didn’t get cross when I sprung it on him that we were going to look around a secondary school, quite happily walked there with us and later on, he ran upstairs, got his pyjamas on and brushed his teeth – all without any asking/nagging. Then today, he slept in until past 8 o’clock. It’s all highly suspicious. I’m thinking he’s been abducted by aliens and replaced with some oddly obedient child. Or did you stow the real Louie away in your suitcase?

    See you tomorrow. xxxxxx

  31. Cheryl says:

  32. Abby Hewitson says:

    Hi Jodie,

We are all gripped by the exciting tales of all your adventures (thanks Salman!) – we particularly like the idea of stories around the campfire (I bet some were spooooooky!). We recieved your postcard today – what a brilliant surprise, we loved it! Mummy had (happy) tears in her eyes as she read it…you know her, she cries at anything πŸ˜‰ Well done for being brave about the flying spiders – we hope your trip is making you feel less scared of them…although spiders with wings are CRAZINESS!

Everything is just fine here, and we can’t wait for you to be home. Nan & Pops are flying over for the weekend, so we will all be having Sunday lunch together. Yum.

Lots of love, Mumma, Mummy & Beau.xxx

I can’t believe you have done so much climbing (that wall is tall!), walking and excercising in just 3 and a half days. You are going to come back home with even more muscles. As I previously mentioned it, I do plan on making you keep the good work and now that means the housework too! ;P
