  1. Vicky and Ian says:

    Hey Louie!
Hoping you weren’t the one trying to fit a duvet in a pillowcase…but also hoping you are having the most amazing time. The house is v quiet and Big Zee and Poppy are wandering around trying to work out why peace has settled on us! Daddy saw Finn from rugby tonight at yr 6 evening visit – he has your old hair style (floppy locks!). You are clearly a trend-setter.
Will post again tomorrow, but in the meantime, missing you loads! xxxxxx
PS thanks Salman – sterling effort, as ever. And the answer is…. Kate Middleton.

  2. Catherine Burkin says:

    Hello Kip,
I hope you enjoyed your first day and didn’t get too tangle up in the duvet when you made the bed! Piggy has been squeaking a lot and I’ve reminded her that you’re on the school trip. Wishing you lots of fun on day two my lovely.
    Lots of love Mum xxxx

I imagine we are not the only house strangely quiet with you guys away!
Missing you and looking forward to hearing about all your adventures xxxx Sarah, Colin and Lara xxxx

  4. Clare Ludlow says:

Duchess of Cambridge is my answer.
Hi Wilf – joe hit his head at school today so spent most of the day on the sofa!
Trying to train the cats to open the cat flap but I m abit nervous so have jammed it open again!
Hope you’re having fun, big love from us all
    Mum x

  5. Michael Ludlow says:

Hey Wilf and year 6 – Sounds like you will all have a great time down there. Wilf, Have you established what the hive is yet? Look forward to hearing all the stories when we both return home on Friday – have fun, love Dad

My guess to win you house points is Prince Harry!

  6. Rebecca says:

Thanks Salman, it’s lovely to hear what you’ve all been doing. It sounds as though you’ve had a great first day. Jess M, we assume that your bed making was of a high standard, as usual. 8. Matt Leys says:

Hi Cora! Sounds like you’re having an amazing time already. Did you do the hive challenge or orienteering? And more importantly, did you manage to get your duvet cover on?? If the answer is ‘yes’, you’ve got a new job when you get back πŸ˜‰

It’s very quiet here without you, although you won’t be surprised to learn the strains of the Dr Who music have been heard… Trix misses you (aww) and so do we. Hopefully you’re having way too much fun and fish and chips to think about us much. Trixie saw Grandad Adam, Dorothy and Amy today and they say hi too.

Keep on having a brilliant time sweetheart, look out for Mr B (and Mr Bee), say hi to all the girls and most important of all, be nice to Salman! Lots of love and see you Friday, daddy and mummy xxxooo

Royal visitor….I wish it were Harry but more likely one of those lesser-spotted royals, surely, like Camilla or the Wessex’s?

Please give my 6 Green boy an embarrassing hug tomorrow morning- the house is very quiet without him. In fact the cat tis completely confused and actually hanging out on the sofa.
Ash- I hope you didn’t get lost this afternoon, if you can hit the ball in Rocket League you should be able to find your way around a few fields. Grandad missed you this evening and sent his love to you. Thea is completely confused without you and has already promised to sleep with us tonight so we’re not lonely- I think it’s her that needs it though πŸ˜‰ I hope you slept well. Love you loads. Your Mum xxx

  13. Shabana Fazaldin says:

    Kate Middleton visited in 2012.
Hi Sofia hope your having a wonderful time.
We all miss you it’s soooo quiet.
    Love you x

  14. Margit Shorten says:

Good morning Ruby and Lena πŸ™‚

I hope you had a good night’s sleep. It sounds like you’re having the most amazing time in Kingswood. Daddy and I are also living the luxury life…watching telly in bed, drinking out of your mugs and dabbing quite a lot.

Bentley is missing you so much – he’s been in your rooms quite a lot, but also seems to think that we’ve hidden you in the bathroom especially when Laura is in there – he tries to dig you out. We’ve decided to focus on his education to distract him and he’s learning a new word, which is “pub”. That’s where we took him last night. Mr B and I had a Hallumi salad. B ate all the Hallumi and one tomoto which accidentally rolled on the floor and he had to chase it. There were three other dogs present, probably also learning “pub”. Bent went the furthest on his learning journey as he stayed awake for the whole lesson – the other three fell asleep. but enough about Mr B, daddy had fishcakes which looked very sloppy.

As usual, daddy left for work very early and I’m about to head off. It’s very weird here without you, the house seems very empty and quite tidy. We were speculating about who you’re sharing with. I think you’re in one of the big rooms with six people sharing – wish you could send us a message. We should have been learning telepathy all these years. Hope you have a fantastic day today and don’t use up all your socks.

Sending you bundles and heaps of love from daddy, Bentley and mummy
Ps. Laura is learning the violin.
Pps. Was it Kate, the Duchess of Cornwall who visited Kingswood?

  15. Matt Leys says:

I know the answer!!!!!!!!! Kate Middleton!!!!!
    I am right, aren’t I?
I hope you are having a nice time with your roommate and also hope you slept well!
    From Trix xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  24. Rebecca says:

Jess M, we miss all your usual, wonderful contributions to family life, including the music (yes, even the singing) and chit-chat. However, we can’t honestly say that it’s quiet without you. Charlie has built a bank of capacitors and last night we had loud cracks and impressive sparks in the corner of the dining room, accompanied by raised voices. You know the sort of thing! We really needed you to “keep calm and make tea”. We hope that you’re all having a great time today and we look forward to the next update. Mum and Dad xoxo

Hope you have been having fun with your friends, hot chocolate at bed time sounds like a real treat! The house seems quiet without you, look forward to seeing you on Friday to hear all about the advetures you’ve been having. Lots of love, Mummy, Daddy and Arabella xxx

  27. Kati says:

I actually forgot to check the blog last night (even we did keep guessing who are you sharing with, bed already or not) but it was worth a wait – thanks Salmon!
Cassia keeps saying its too quiet, Elicia is repeating you are on a airplane (the only way she understands that you are not here but “on a work trip” like daddy) every time she hears your name and I kept listening Adele the whole day.
The answer of course is Kate Middleton as you told me Bella when googling eagerly the info about your destination.
Love you & miss you Bluebell!
Enjoy your adventure and be kind to Salman & brave Ashmount adults team!

Kati & Adam & Cassia & Elicia xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  28. Harriet Jaine says:

    Sylvie –

I only just read Salman’s amazing blog… Can’t believe I’m one of the last parents to write a message on here. I hope I don’t lose you a house point for bad parenting. We all miss you lots and lots – Mystic slept at my feet last night. I think she was lonely.

Fish and chips… I assume there was a vegetarian option and it wasn’t just a massive plate of chips! Perhaps Tony can cook you a vegetarian special, he’s a very good cook and once made a delicious veggy chilli for the Halloween Disco.

Have a brilliant time today, have fun and get some sleep tonight. If your clothes get dirty then put them in a carrier bag, don’t just leave them screwed up in the corner of your room. Can’t wait to see you on Friday, lots of love from Mum x x x

Dear Year 6, I am so, so glad that you have had a great start to your school journey! I am really proud of you all – taking on new challenges and having fun together.
School is quieter without you and the playground seems pretty empty at lunchtime! We are also missing your amazing lunchtime helper skills, though the year 5s are doing a good job at living up to your high standards.
